정태춘과 박은옥, 한겨레신문 인터뷰 <5년의 침묵…인간에게 희망 있나 회의했다>에서.

김대중 정권 즈음에 다들 거대담론이 아니라 미시담론이 중요하다는 말들을 많이 하기 시작했습니다. 그런데 나는 오히려 반대 생각이었어요. 거대한 것이 밀려오고 있었어요. 신자유주의라는 세계사적인 변화가 급박하게 진행되고 있는데, 그래서 이전보다 오히려 더 큰 거대담론이 필요한데 그 변화를 읽지 못하고 시민의 일상, 지역의 문제 같은 미시적인 문제만 중요시했지요.
